Leaking wheel problem
Discussion
I have a set of 16” split rims which I recently re-fitted to my MR2. I had them fitted before but removed them as I was continually coming out in the morning (or even after a few hours) to a flat tyre.
So I stripped the wheel in question down and cleaned it, put sealant in between the bolt holes, then put the outer rim back on. I then put sealant round the join between the 2 outer sections.
It was still leaking through the bolt holes at the rear, so attached these areas with Loctite, which did the job, but the air just found another way to get out!
So the critical part to seal up would be the join between two outer halves, anybody know of a better way / material to seal this up with??
Thanks,
Ross
