Alcantara repair

Friend of mine has damaged the base of an alcantara seat (cigarette ash). It seems that conventional car interior repair places won't be able to fix this. Does anyone have any experience of who to use for this? And if so can it only be done be reupholstering the seat?

You need to look up a car trimmer in your area perhaps try the regional section of this forum.
It may be the case he could buy a seat base cover to swap over.
