Older (probably British) cars are not my strong point - I'm told I may not even have a strong point, but this has me stumped. Anyone?

Proportions looks very similar to an extended wheelbase Armstrong-Siddeley 18

I think a Renown is too small.

That’s spot on. 18hp Limousine. One of just 122 built and it is thought 21 extant.

I agree that it looks like an Armstrong-Siddeley 18, but there are subtle differences at the rear end, maybe another Armstrong-Siddeley?

Sad to see what was a prestige car in that condition.

We complain about all cars looking the same these days - but there we have two old cars that look remarkably similar, apart from one being obviously bigger than the other.

Not convinced. The one in the original pic has a ‘suicide‘ front door, the shape of the rear wing is different and the back window looks bigger.

I think that's a winner - the coachline is the tell-tale (apart from the overall shape/proportions etc).
Sitting in someone's front garden in Wexford (Ireland) along with a Citroen BX and the customary Transit.
