That’s a thing of beauty, not sure about the wheels but they can be fixed easy enough.

Wheels are big, however, the pic doesn’t show the biggest set of Brembos also fitted

Alloys look like the standard Mk1 Focus RS fitment - based on the conversion possibly also running the FRS 4pot Brembo calipers too?

I could just about get it, in a 2 door shell. But the 4 door does nothing for me.

Nice. Looks like its built to be driven properly, not obsessed over poinless details by anoraks.

Bodywork and paint look great.....

I really should 'get it'...........but I just can't.
Large modern wheels/rubber band tyres/massive brakes and other 21st century mods on old 60's and 70's era cars just look so st......

This car belongs to me owned it for 30 years. And yes its running a Cosworth YB which I converted back in late 1999.
This car is a built not bought car as everything has been done my myself welding, paint, engine build, wiring all modifications.
Many have said the wheels are too big BUT this thing needs to stay on the road and tyres are very important so it's a compromise between astectic and function with over 460bhp in something that's 1160kgs.

It's far from perfect but it's unique !!!!

Great to see this again, I have such a soft spot for MK3s and have toyed with doing what you have many years back . Doubt I’d have got as right as this though…

If you were to ever sell, what kind of money would you be hoping for ?

I really like that, it's very subtle from the outside, and the colour is a good choice IMO.

Agree that I don't think the wheels suit it. Understand the desire for modern rubber and need for brake clearance. My opinion is some Watanabe RS wheels would provide that while their passing similarity to Minilites or Compomotive MLs would perhaps look more in line with the rest of the car.

But... it's your car, keep it how you like it.

Don't think I'd be selling it anytime soon. I have so many other things I would like to upgrade. ECU next with some modern goodies.

As with most cars like this I could not even build it if I had to pay someone the cost would be tremendous.

Let's just say it wouldn't be cheap and most would laugh.

Thanks for the kind words.

I built myself a mk1 escort with a YB Turbo. Went like a bat out of hell, but honestly, the engine overwhelmed the car. Same power in a Mk3, yeah thats a nice compromise. Congrats, it sounds a like great thing.

460hp in a Mk.3...........rofl

You deserve a fking medal. beer

I owned a Mk.3 2.0GT 2 door 45 years ago, and its stomping 97hp overwhelmed the chassis...!!
