Came across this while in Key West last month. I have never seen one before, it was a lovely looking thing very 60s British looking

Well Giovanni Michelotti did most of the design work for Triumph from the '50s into the '70s and looks like he also did work for Datsun.

He also designed the BMW 700 if you want to see a car that looks a lot like a Triumph Herald - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_700

The SP310, SP311 and SR311 series 'Fairlady Sports' models had nothing to do with Michelotti. They were styled in-house at Nissan by Hidehiro IIZUKA. The first showing of the SP310 prototype was at the Tokyo Motor Show in October 1961. Production of the 'Fairlady 1500' started in October 1962.
