Inconsiderate nesters
Discussion
I have a very tame wren or maybe several wrens that hang around in my car barn.
last year one of them successfully nested in the mechanism for my four post lift. it built the nest right between the cables and pulleys that operate the lift Which is nice to watch but meant I couldn't really use the lift for most of the summer until the chicks had fledged.
this year I just spotted they have built the nest right in the glove box in the dashboard of my wife's 1930 vintage Lagonda. Which creates a bit more of a dilemma. poor old Jenny wren will have to lay the eggs, hatch and fledge the chicks before the end of June. otherwise they are coming on a driving tour around the Loire.
in fact looking more closely at the new nest it's a bit bigger so could possibly be a robin this time instead of a wren.
