What’s under the ‘tarp?

I’ve been thinking about doing a thread like this for ages, as a lot of PHers have recognised cars under ‘tarps’ - you have to say that with a US drawl - from the smallest clue: the curve of an overrider, a flat boot spoiler etc. I’m always fascinated that people know a car’s details in great detail - even sometimes without having even owning a version of the model. So here’s a few I’ve collected together. Some I know, some I don’t …

Feel free to add more. Hopefully the vast majority are ‘classics’ - who would cover up a modern car?

A Ford, yes, but more likely a Consul Classic

8th one down - the outline has an uncanny resemblance to the Iso Lele, especially at the back end but they're mega rare.

6th - Suzuki Cappuccino I think - or possibly 2nd generation MX5 ? (see outline of n/s headlight).

8th - agree with P5, could be a Lele but ?? Maserati Khamsin.

9th - initial thought was a Chimaera but probably older (judging by state of front wheel). Rear wheel arch appears flared - so ?? Davrian.

I have driven past this location in the West Midlands a few times and did indeed, wonder what was under the tarp - and further back too!

It's been there since 2009 (Google Street view and overhead images) and the yellow and white cars not much less (not the TT).

The yellow one is some sort of VW Beetle kit car I reckon, not quite right for a Nova but something similar. White one is surely one of those nasty Countach replicas - everyone seems to sell them as unfinished projects on eBay.

The one under the brown tarpaulin - must be the missing Mercedes C-111 concept car :

Yellow looks like a UVA M6GTR, like this:

At first I thought the white one was a VW-based Charger, but the windscreen shape makes me think it's just a Countach replica - probably a Mirage or Prova.

I think you're correct about the Chimaera (9th image) - front headlight and bonnet line looks right to me and the rear arches are very wide-hipped anyway.

Also think 1st image could be a late 50's F-type Victor.

Some big Yank! Lincoln Continental maybe …

On the original post, first pic is a Ford Consul Mk2. I know that cos the bloke told me! Second pic is a Ford Consul Classic … I think I more or less broadly agree with the other suggestions ……
