Disagree, use colurtune to get mixture spot on, working from white (weak) up to Bunsen blue which is correct mixture. Remember to set timing spot on

Use flow meter guage to set all carbs to same flow.

Some people make out it is difficult to tune SU carbs, I found then easy using the two devices.

You end up with balanced carbs with the mixture leanest but still Bunsen blue.

I don't think that's what Huntsman means.

It's when one has a running fault, many automatically assume carb problems and start unnecessary fiddling.

1st port of call should be ignition.

Being on the safe side, I carry a spare fuel pump, a set of carburettor gaskets and a spare carburettor float, a spare coil, a spare plug, and now run a 123 distributor, There are other things such as a oil pressure sender, but these are not directly involved with getting home

How are you finding the 123, compared to the original one? I'm tossing up whether to have the original rebuilt by Martin the Distributor Doctor, or getting a 123.
