I’m just watching the Good Girl’s Guide to Murder (don’t bother).

The young lead was driving an old Volvo and I thought “how much older than her is it?”.

It then made me wonder if I’d driven a car older than me. I can’t think that I have. My first car was only six years younger than me though.

Have you?

The first car I owned was a 1934 Austin 12, and it was a good fifteen years older than me.

Yep - born 1954, first car was born 1947. Ford Model 10, DVN 969, side-valve 23bhp, rod brakes, vacuum wipers, no synchro on 1st, semaphore indicators - the complete works! Took me (us) all around the UK with lots of work almost every journey.

Big learning curve!

Nope but recently I bought a car exactly the same age (well almost, same year but a few months younger than I). It has aged well!

A car the same age as me (1976) is a thing I want to get at some point, as a bucket list thing I suppose. Haven't worked out what car it would be though hehe .

Yes can’t remember the exact year but born in 92 and drove a Jensen interceptor. To be honest it was nice to drive and have a much more modern experience than I expected. It was very easy to drive.

I’ve had. 2 or 3 bikes from the 80’s too.

My daily driver (only car) for many years was a 1970 Volvo Amazon...

I was born in 1975.

The old Volvo will be up for sale soon: I don't have the time anymore to keep the old girl in fine fettle. Don't want to sell (owned for 13 years or so) but it's time for someone else to enjoy.
