There are very few manual XJs around and if I remember right from my young days only 2.8s available in manual 4.2s all autos.
Series 1 were available as a 4 speed manual with overdrive on the 2.8 and 4.2, Series 2 were available manual 3.4 and 4.2 and the Series 3 manual 3.4 and 4.2 but these were the 5 speed.Sebring440 said:

Ah well no point ranting, but some rather bizarre inconsistent moderation. Probably coz I'm new, only been here 22 years

Probably had more to do with ‘PH’ rules on not advertising your own car on the platform; that’s before we get to the erroneous claim, that you just know of the car, but have nothing to do with the sale.
Ebay: user name ‘teamlizardracing’ your own website ‘lizardlogistics’ just a coincidence?

I've just been browsing cheap Jaguars on Car and Classic and pretty sure this is the same car, cleaned up and looking smart.

I was never that fond of the S1or S2 XJ, which is probably because I always as a child coveted the S3.
However over the last couple of years, I’ve become a real fan of the S2 with all its 70’s charm.
I have owned Series 1 , 2 and 3 over the years and I wouldn't take any of them over a good X350 . Even if you accept all of theHowever over the last couple of years, I’ve become a real fan of the S2 with all its 70’s charm.
criticism from the Jaguar enthusiasts about the models shortcomings you are still left with 80% of the other models and none of
their shortcomings

I honestly don't know why you would bother with that , in my humble opinion its a nonsense for any Jaguar Enthusiast .
Why?For me, on the Continent (LHD), this seems a nice car. Not a big fan of the colour but everything else seems to be in good condition (and rust free, rare for a S2). Being ex USA, it is fitted with a good few things which you are unlikely to find in an European S2 (tinted glass, electric windows, air con).
Just fit a pair of European bumpers and Euro headlamps.
