Coming up soon in Kings Lynn but possibly a couple of questions regarding the modifications carried out and if the original gear has been kept ? Secondly the mileage covered and on what engine ? Its a pretty distinctive plate , does anyone recognise the car ?

I've not seen that for a long time, used to be on the show scene. Questionable mileage, non original engine number and other modifications - that's running air injectors and correct engine breathing upgrades so assume it's stage 3 minimum. And the boot won't open and its got the usual ripple effect front splitter.
Those front spoilers as a full kit command silly money, if and when one is unearthed and given the engine mods that will need a lot of NOS parts to put back to standard. As an owner of a late LUX car, that feels a bit optimistic price wise even if one of a limited run. I guess it'll depend on who's in the market, and whether they're looking for what appears to be a well upgraded car (although on standard brakes!).

No reset, a total of 116k miles, 7k since the engine rebuild. It has 19 years of MoT passes with no advisories, it's a car to actually use and drive for once.

I've been watching the market quite closely over recent months as potentially in the market for another (after selling my last one for £12k back in 2011!!)
The auctions are telling me reasonable useable examples with a few mods are generally £42-£50k...there are a whole bunch of private ones from £60-£80k just not selling in this bracket of 'useable with a mod or two', which I feel tells you all you need to know, (there are also two with a bit of a story in the mid 50's range and been on sale for months)
The top end are £80k plus and seem consistent at that.
I'm actually starting to look at importing one as private sellers on the continent seem much more realistic with lots of their private prices similar to our auction prices. Sapphires are looking great value currently too.

It's always good to read your considered contribution and I agree with everything you say . I disposed of mine many years ago and despite the prices they were fetching at the height of the boom I genuinely have no regrets . At 62 I take the view I want to own and drive as many different cars as I can now but thats neither here nor there . What I am genuinely interested in is how life is for the Owners of an Escort Cosworth nowadays . Even though the cars were always desirable many wouldn't have considered the investment aspect , what genuine Ford Owner ever did ? Can I ask if these are generally kept on limited mileage policies or perhaps Sorned during the winter months and used for the occasional show or gathering in the summer months ? I certainly don't see any being used as daily drivers or even living in carcoons though I suppose there must be some "investments" suffering the latter fate ?Some of those would probably benefit from being closer to a standard car, but the problem is now the original parts can be hard to get hold of so they're stuck modded. I don't do shows or car meets now though, got tired of all that though really.
Many will be on a laid up or low mile per annum agreed value policy, mines on a 1k miles per year policy (with valuation) and has been taxed all year round for the last 5 years but I will be SORNing this week as I know that I won't be using until May at earliest next year.
The bespoke parts can be a concern, I've got at least £2k of original or NLA parts for mine which is standard apart from exhaust, some silicone hoses and some small engine dress up bits - only standard part I don't have is the exhaust.
I get asked sometimes why I've kept it so long, few reasons really:
1) It is rare now, as you mention you don't see them, I like to have something so rare and unusual;
2) There are many, many better cars out there, the YB isn't exactly ground breaking and the transmission and brakes marginal on even a standard car, but still a sub 6 second 60mph car even as standard. I haven't kept it for the performance, more the road presence and just what it is from a certain period in motoring history;
3) I passed my test on 2nd Jan 1996, this car was registered middle of Jan 1996 - I never get tired of the sounds it makes, or the smell of it, proper 90's;
4) I don't need to sell it, it does get in the way in the garage sometimes though!
Thanks for that and I'm particularly pleased you have manage to accumulate some stock parts which are worth their weight in gold . Occasionally I come across the Escort Cosworth on the road once even without the Bodykit which made the car seem surprisingly anonymous . I remember thinking why hasn't someone retro fitted the wing but I suppose on the basis of originality the owner simply didn't bother . Late aero delete cars are rare, and like you mention some had the aero pack fitted later. There is a white one for same now on ebay that was a delete car, but that does now have the front and upper rear spoiler on. The advert states easy to remove, but the tailgate will need painting if the spoiler is now removed as the upper mounting points will have been opened up.
Majority of the drive train parts can be purchased new, even cylinder heads and the like. Odd things are hard to get, there is a short supply of large turbo 3 bar map sensors and ignition amps for example, and i'm on the look out for a set of new or lightly used coil packs and leads.
Going back to the original topic, it'll be interesting to see what that Monte sells for. I'm not sure it'll crack £60k.
