Hi All,

I've just come across this old family photo, dating I guess, sometime around 1910 - I don't think it's any later than that.

I've established the location as being the Fairy Glen Inn, Conwy Old Road, Penmaenmawr.

It's a difficult challenge, but I was wondering if anyone can identify the car (there's really only the radiator to be seen).

Curiously, it appears that the car has only one headlight ?

A Belsize 14/16?

Edited to add: or a few other Belsize models, going by the radiator.

Thank you for an incredibly speedy reply . . . and I think you're right - looks like a Belsize radiator to me.

The problem is - lots of manufacturers used that shape of radiator. Fiat for a start, and lots of now-defunct companies. It could be any one of 20/30 makes.

I'm not so sure. The spoke wheels are different and the mud guards are a flat top.

To add to the confusion, don't forget that a lot of cars were supplied as rolling chassis, with the buyer arranging his/her own coachwork, which often included the mudguards.

Is that a quite high roof on it? If so, it looks more like a charabanc type vehicle.
