Quickest Sixties Estate

Ideally I'd love a Mark II Jag. But I can't fit wife, offspring AND two Greyhounds in the back.

So, what I'd like to know is, which 1960's Estate (that will take two big dogs) is the fastest?

thats a good question. i'm actually scratching my head just trying to think of 60s estates full stop, let alone the fastest - can't have been many about. i reckon some sort of merc or probably something quite humble like a cortina 2 litre

And trying to find one today won't be easy. I can remember my Dad trying to find one back in the late 1970's, and he spent about 6 months trying and found one fairly ropey one for sale. In the end he bought a MK2 2000 estate instead, and chopped that in for a 2500S version a few years later.
I can remember one of his mates had a lovely dark green Mk2 2.5PI estate around 1977/78.

The other thing is the Rover 3500 estates that were converted, but are equally rare.

I know that this example is 1973 but the car was first introduced in 1962, so it's essentially 'Sixties'.

Triumph 2500 PI Mk2 - you'll find the odd one on a '69 H.

Stag V8 goes in very nicely if you don't fancy the Lucas PI setup, but the throttle response and the sound make it worth living with.
