Anyone up to speed with Home Cinema please?

Sky to DVD recorder as long as it's not a JVC recorder as they don't allow a through line for the scart.
DVD recorder to receiver
Playstation to receiver
receiver to television
Plugging the video sources into the receiver assumes that it has video switching.
You plug it, you broke it

There's dozens of TV nerds and some Techies and dealers who post there. Someone there will be able to give you the definitive answer .

Help needed on the best way to connect
Plasma TV,Receiver,DVD Recorder, Speakers, Playstation2 and Sky.
Easiest way:
SCART from PS2 to VCR socket of Sky
SCART from TV socket of Sky to AV2 socket on DVDR
SCART from AV1 socket of DVDR to TV
For better picture quality from DVD you could also use a set of component leads from DVDR to TV.
This way allows sound from all sources to play direct from the TV speakers if you don't want the reciever on.
For the sound via the receiver you'll need a suitable digital connection from both the DVD player and PS2 to the receiver. Use a coax cable (if the E85 has one) for the DVD otherwise use optical, use optical for the PS2.
Sky (unless you have Sky+) will require a standard set of RCA cables for the sound to the receiver.
I'm not familiar with the 2805 receiver, but my older Denon needs to have the digital audio inputs setup to a specific input, you can do this from the setup menu.
Tony, I wont go into the set up as it has now been covered. What I will say is are you using any sort of mains filter? The reason I ask is last week I added one of the Isotek mini sub's to my system
Honestly I was not prepared for the step up in quality the noise floor fell to nothing, and definition and sound stage were improved greatly.
Now I am using HI end audio, but the principle is the same. Go for one of these specifically designed for AV Isotek are a good company to deal with, they give a 25 year insurance on their kit. Think about it all that dosh on kit and your feeding it dirty power.
I havee a small test device if you would like to use, plugged into any mains socket it will produce sound in relation to the ammount of noise on your power.
I woul talk to a dealer about a loan so you can see for yourselfe. That is if you are not allready on the case (no pun intended). Nick.
