Following on from another thread, I was pleasantly surprised to find I share the same tastes in music as some of you other "oldies" out there, like Hawkwind for instance.

So what was the very first pop concert you went to?

For me it was in 1970/1 (not sure of exact date)

A free concert in Hyde Park, featuring Grand Funk Railroad, Heads, Hands and Feet and Humble Pie.
Humble Pie were the supporting band, as it was early days for them. They were by far the best there. Pete Frampton was dynamite!

Ozzy Osbourne (with backing bands UDO and Slammer) at Hammersmith Odeon - probably about 86-88...?

It has been my dream since to play at this venue at some point!

Status Quo at Wembley Arena in 1978 (or 1979 - memory fades with age!)

Think it was Simply Red - Stars. Got the tickets dirt cheap of somebody who had to work that day. Took my GF, who was a big fan, and really enjoyed it myself.

Can't totally be sure - but it might have been Madonna at Wembley, or Queen at Knebworth.

Both were excellent.

Mogwai in Brighton in 98. They were phenomenally loud, in a very bad mood, and the lighting rig was falling down. Even though you could hear people talking over the quiet bits (hence the bad mood) it was still a great gig. Couldn't hear properly for 2 days afterwards.
