Adults who disappear
Discussion
Off the top of my head.....
The futility of existence, deep seated paranoia, a general ennui leading to feelings that their families would be better off without them. Escaping the shackles of a burdensome love which stiffles their true identity. A malaise of the soul based on the cage of social constructs fermented by modern society.
Why do you ask?

Just curious as to why/how people can do that.
Two years ago I changed my identity, but I still let my parents know I was safe and well.
What made you change yours (if its not too personal a question)? - I must admit I have never felt the urge to change my identity (though I'd probably need one first).

Indeed. However, for a 'knowledge worker' like myself (and, indeed, yourself) surely with a new identity you would have no way of accounting for your knowledge, or proving your knowledge. No case histories, no examples of previous work, nothing. I take your point about buying a fake identity though.
