after 5th attempt to get past stage two, realised I'm really crap at this game!!

I think I got to stage 3 once.

Apparently there are 256 possible levels and one guy got a perfect score 20 years after the game was originally released.

Why do I find this game more enjoyable than most graphics-laden PS2 output?

And does anyone else get the Benny Hill theme playing in their head when PacMan is being chased by, or chasing, the ghosts? (Try it w/o sound).

Some of those flash games on Ebaums are a piece of cake if you use a graphics pen instead of a mouse.
Now if I could just fly the Flight Sim with the same accuracy...
