Well I am, and I'm not ashamed to admit it

The BBC only ever showed the series once (and I have it on Betamax video - I kid you not) and then in the last few years it's been on Granada Plus (so now I have it on VHS). The pilot episode and a couple of other episodes made it to DVD, but finally though, Season 1 is coming on DVD soon

WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

You can get it on region 1 already, but R2 is on it's way.

fantastic will have to buy that.

I liked it a few series in when it went ultra violent then there were complaints and it went all spiritual.

Anyone else remember the episode where it turned out that James edward olmos was a ninja?

We used to try to emulate the fashions at school discos or parties.
Not the same when your trying to smuggle a 2 litre bootle of Woodpecker in is it

I MUST BE MISSING SOMETHING HERE!!
So what you're saying is that your real name is Ian Bilko2?
Or could it just be that my reasonable assumption that Bilko2 is your handle is correct?
If this is the case, do you know who Bilko is/was?
As in Sergeant Ernie Bilko? Are you following this so far, or am I going too fast for you?
In other words, calling you Ernie is an extension of your handle and is actually a term of endearment, a compliment, get it!!??
I happen to think that the Phil Silvers show, i.e. Bilko, was one of the funniest, best produced comedy shows ever written, and that Silvers was quite simply a genius.
Right now however, I cannot for the life of me, figure out why you chose his name as your handle!!
Nor can I figure out what the hell Harry Potter has to do with anything; and who is this guy Paul that you're apologising to?
On second thoughts, forget it.
The way I deal with people like you is to ignore them, 'specially when they can't chill out!

That was the green Daytona Spyder from the first series. The white Testarossa was a real one.

Best US TV cop show made IMHO. Will be getting my mitts on that DVD set ASAP me thinks

I just love that whole 80's Miami thing. Scarface is another fave of mine

Edit: Forgot about the Scarab powerboat and the music. Quite sublime

I'll have to cough to my best mate and I going to some 80's school discos in white pants, salmon pink 3 button t-shirts, ice blue jackets with the sleeves rolled back, and white, rope-soled espadrilles.

What a pair of complete and utter tw@s we must have looked.

Although I've had the Jan Hammer, Mv and MV2 Cds for quite some time now...

Are the 80's cool again or not?

Who cares Dibs, they were wonderfully cool then.
But I tell you what, Duran Duran are stonking up the charts right now, that has to mean something.

Ian, I think you could probably do with some cheering up, so get yourself to WH.Smith's or Tower records, or anywhere that sells old TV series on video or DVD and buy some Sergeant Bilko episodes.
You won't believe how funny the guy is.
They were made in the fifties and I must have seen them all I don't know how many times, and I still laugh my ass off every time, he's just brilliant.

I have plenty Duran Duran albums too...

And one of my "claims to fame" is the fact we were sailing in the same bit of sea when SlB's keel detached from Drum, then we sailed past as he was being pulled off by the Royal Navy...

Oh yes Dibs, a perfect example of what happens when you let a man with too much money loose in a beautiful vessel.
I sailed in her a couple of years ago, utter perfection.
How the Hell he managed that I don't know!

The Daytona was a replica, the Testarossa was loaned by Ferrari as long as the replica Daytona was destroyed on camera- which happened on the first episode of series 2.

Loved the Jan Hammer tune too.

Partially - the stunt Testarossa was a replica as well, based on (I sh!t you not) a DeTomaso Pantera. If you look really closely you will see the "Testarossa" go from Park, Reverse and then Drive (back lights, reverse lights) via the AUTOMATIC transmission installed...

Not as nice as an old friend's J class yacht - as featured on rather a lot of "Beken" pictures.

Now that's a PROPER boat - made of tree, not this GRP/Carbon Fibre/cement rubbish.

Some good info there Ernest. Always knew the Daytona was a rep.
