They're both boring me rather alot, and have done for the last couple of years...soooooo, anybody wanna go into business?

Ideas are a bit thin on the ground, but I need something more challenging, and I think I'd be much more willing to put effort in if I could actually see the results of it, which I don't get so much at the moment. Time to get the brain working again I think!

Sure, people are always going to be having kids! But would it actually be profit making?? Ah well, there's a challenge!

I'm only 20, so not too experienced with business and the like. But in terms of school and college subjects; maths, sciences, geography, resistant materials...generally things that I enjoyed. I think I need to be doing something that I really enjoy, and then I'll want to put the effort in to make it succeed.

Tell you what - learn plastering. You'll never be out of work - guaranteed. Messy, but even if you get bored of it, its something you will always be able to fall back on.

Good plasterers are always busy. Plumbing is another one, although every man and his dog are doing it now. Its not just soldering pipes though - think about sawing through a soil pipe to unblock a plug of soggy poo?

Independent is once you are established. Only thing that costs is equipment and insurance cover. Could make it a celebrity and rich person's one and make a mint!

A few fellow students in PH (eg... me) have set up businesses which have proved to be profit making. It's using what you're good at.

I'm crap at the techy side of stuff generally, but I'm very good at making sure the client is happy... which has meant that all my current clients are happy as larry with the service i provide. (this sounds very risque already... ).

So work out what you're good at and go from there.

The business i set up has led to people in the same trade offering me jobs, one of which I think i might start with straight after uni's finished.

Feel free to mail me any questions you have, but might not want to post on the forum

I was considering them a couple of years ago, before starting what I'm doing now. There are soo many people doing them now though...

That's what I was thinking, they don't really want to be giving birth, they want to be on holiday! So all we have to work out is how to make childbirth like a holiday

erm...professional masseure (or however it's spelt!) on hand instead of the useless partner who put the woman in the situation! Birthing "swimming" pools and deck chairs instead of beds?

Or we could just anaesthetise them and they'd know no better!

Thanks for the help rico, might mail you if I actually manage to come up with an idea

Sounds good. Always happy to be there to bounce ideas off. I've got about 12 various business plans written up... most are wacky but a few I'll follow up in time

I've heard there's money to be made down the docks doing favours for sailors...

Read me a story...

... and squirry the squirrel went neep neep neep and lived happily ever after.

sailor:Now then me hearties, how much for a good hard shag?
Blackadder: A Thousand pounds.
Sailor: A thousand pounds?
Blackadder: I'm sure we can negotiate... (throws the sign into baldricks hands)

... So we got sixpence...
