How high in relation to your body should a punch bag be? I'm 5'11", and the bag's a 4-footer...I'm guessing it's best to aim for just above the middle of the bag?

Depends on what you are punching for. ie. Head shots included? Are you kicking as well?

Make sure you hang it correctly. We had one put up at the gym. It only took a few big punches from my friend Omar before the bracket bent and pulled a load of plaster out of the wall. They conducted an investigation into that one. I'd hazard a guess at keeping the top of the bag level with your head so that you can punch at head and body middle section height. That is probably the optimum height too for practicing hitting an opponent.

Depends where you're going to draw the face.

Might do a bit of kicking too...although I don't really want to bring the wall down...not that my legs are that strong!

Yep, I think top of the bag level with head is probably going to be best. Cheers!

To avoid that, do as my brother did and drill the bracket into the outside rear wall and get a polythene cover for it.

Ok, using it becomes an outdoor activity- but it makes a good burglar deterant
