My rover 200 was a good shed while it lasted. I know they have the stigma as an old persons car but my 95hp 214 could still do 0-60 in 10s and set me up nicely for the mr2

Not a fan of 200s at all...the 400/45 was/is a 5-door prev-gen Civic (decent car) in drag, just a shame about the Rover build quality, and Rover engines, and Rover styling, and Rover dealers, and Rover reliability, and...

You forgot depreciation. Mine was c.£25k when new. Now almost ten years old and I got it for £300.
