...It used to be all over the news, but after the Beslan (sp?) massacre, all news just left. It's still raging to this day, but never covered?

Simple. The media invented global warming which the government realised it could tax us for.

Why hear about Chechnya if we can get hysterical about knife crime or the Pitt's baby photos?

Simple really. Putin planted a leader in there that he can control. It's a bloke named Ramzan Kadyrov. He is the son of the ex (assassinated) leader. He's a gangster and and also an ex freedom fighter. He likes to feed his opponents to his pet tigers. Look him up, nice chap.

Seeing as the whole place is run by a murderous bunch of petrolheads, I think we should get weekly news from the place.

This is a great video too. Everyone off the road to make way for the calvacade of dictator Ramzan Kadyrov.

Dodn't they just kill any journalist that attempts to produce any meaningful report from the place?

Because Putin has his hand up the new "leader's" arse, who is very corrupt and rides around in a million dollar motorcade while his people starve.

We don't hear about Chechnya because it's behind the iron curtain.

Didn't you hear!? Jade Goody has cancer!!!

We don't hear about Iraq and rarely hear of Afghanistan that much comparedto a couple of years ago, either. Probably just got old- same with all the stuff in Africa that seldom changes.
