Just had some call centre bod on the phone to me telling me that potentially any credit card debt from a pre 2007 incepted card could be invalid and I could get all my money back.

I thought I'd heard this on the radio the other day - I assume that this is going to become the new version of ambulance chasing? Anyone seen this before?

Its the new and latest "thing". All those doing endowment claims have moved on to "we'll get rid of your debt" claims.

Watch the fees.

Be aware that very very few of these have actually completed yet.

If you do want to doit, go for a firm thats been recommended, not some callcentre bod who called you.

We must have had 20 different firms contact us...... all offering the same thing for the same sort of fees.

I don't want to do it - I pay my debts. (However I *would* like to have my 4% life of balance interest rate back. The bds charged me £300 quid to do a balance transfer. A domestic banking cockup meant that their direct debit bounce a couple of months later and so, as per their "small print" they've got the interest back to 27% yikes )

It's all down to if the Credit Card Agreement was properly executed. Lots of info on the web about it, look for CCA Request. You can do it yourself without paying anyone as they'll just apply for the same paperwork and charge you a big fee!
