If you could walk into Tesco and buy a 20 pack of Ecstacy or the like would you?

Most drugs make people happy rather than alcohol which can cuase alot of anger and smoking which may cause cancer, surely the common soft drug would actually be safer, especially if manufactured in a legalised enviroment.

Naturally I don't do drugs myself due to the job I have smile

Of course. It is no different from alcohol or tobacco - If other 'drugs' were legal they would be regualted and therefore most of the dangers associated with illegal drugs would have been removed.

They should legalise everything, and make it your decision what you put in your own body. They would then bring in billions in tax revenue and the world would be a better place.

I think its mostly down to whats acceptable in society; I like booze so quite happy with that but I would imagine if it were legal there certinaly would be an increase I would imagine.

Don't to cigarettes, don't do much alcohol, would not do other drugs - regardless of how 'safer' they might be considered compared to current legal drugs.

Whilst I agree with this in some measure i dont think it should or would happen, if we look at the bill for the NHS, Police etc for drinking and smoking we would just be adding further issues, yes Cannabis and E aren't too bad and it would perhaps stop some of the street fighting that Alcohol causes, Cocaine, Crack and Heroin are devestating drugs, if these were legal and people have spent all their benefits on feeding their addiction they'll then continue to rob, steal etc to feed the habit, which is the situation we are already in...

Yeah probably. I smoke but I don't drink so a bit of weed is the perfect compromise, surely?

For a ready-made answer, walk into any coffeeshop in Amsterdam. It will be full of (mainly English) tourists and a local is a very rare sight.

do you drink alcohol?

if so, are you an alcoholic?

if not why not?

by your logic anyone who uses a drug does so to such an extent that they become addicted to it

it's nonsense

there are many cocaine and heroin users who live rich and fulfilling lives, who don't rob, steal etc to feed their 'habit' but actually hold down demanding jobs

When you're in your teens and early 20's you feel bullet proof - so yes, at that age, I might try.

As you get older, you realise that popping chemicals might cause your head to explode (or worse) is probably not worth the risk.
