I wish to give a valentine's card to a lady who is a tuff nutt to crack (so to speak). Think she just needs softening up.

Ordered and received card off t'internet. Front looks like a photo. It's of a pile of rose petals and the person's name is spelt out in said petals too. . .very realistic, all done by 'puter you know. Her name is very unique and I doubt many guys will know how to spell it so she'll probably (hopefully) figure out its me.

The thing is I dont want any mention of "love" in the card's text so was thinking of leaving it blank save for maybe a "X".

I also had the daft idea of sticking a single freeze-dried rose petal inside as well stuck with a piece of dbl-sided tape.

Now will this leave her with the impression that my feelings are too strong, and therefore should I forget that idea.

The impression I want to leave is that I am there for her should she ever want to start something more serious over and above a friendship!?

I'll allow a half dozen typical PH responses before wanting genuine answers biggrin

How about a poem?

I wish you were my Valentine
Though I may not be yours,
And I may, in my ignorance,
Be speaking to closed doors.
I have no inkling of your heart,
No hint what you might say;
But when I think of you the sun
Will just not go away.

There is in you a loveliness
That makes my darkness shine,
And so I'll wait, if wait I must,
To be your Valentine.

IMHO (and I am a guy so girls may correct me)
Thoughtful, romantic gestures like that would actually send a stronger "I want you" signal than say a pair of Tiffany's earrings...

Sorry, every man for himself when it comes to winning the affection of a woman. May the best man win and all that.

Although you realise that if you are subtle about it she may not register that you really like her, be clear about your intentions without sounding needy yes.

Good luck.

how about writing inside it...

"better hope you've locked all your windows love...!"

No but seriously... good luck with it! Hope it goes your way.

"Like Lee Harvey Oswald, I've got you in my sights my darling.

X

Or this one

I thought of sending you a card,
And then maybe a flower.
But instead I asked PH for their views.
Have you been up the Oxo Tower?

Well.. if it were me in your shoes I'd stick with the plan despite knowing in advance that the signal will be too "needy", "romantic" and "desperate".

Basically, if she is really special and you feel that you two, do connect - she should, in theory, reciprocate.
If she is already attracted to you on some level, your card will not ruin your chances. smile

Wish you luck!

Roses are Red,
Violets are blue...

Squat on a glass table
And I'll watch you poo!

Perhaps a bit "specialist" and not entirely romantic...!

Roses are red
Violets are blue
It'll take more than a court order
To keep me from masturbating over you whilst you sleep.

No, its on PH, therefore there are an awful lot of blokes copying it.

[Pisses on romantic bonfie] BTW: As she is a "tuff nut to crack" have you thought your feelings towards her may not be mutual, and a card with her name spelled out in blood (or whatever it is)may be unwlecome. [/pisses on romantic bonfire}
