No I think it is quite fair to claim for damaged luggage, that is why you have insurance.

The $5k should cover that already, anything else is just greed and personally I find it disgraceful.

Humm, would it be possible to refuse to fly passengers if they sue? Or would this be seen as a infringment of their civil rights? I always thought this, if you make needless compensation claims, then do companies have the right to protect themselves from litigeous individuals?

I wouldn't think it unreasonable if they could show the airline had been negligent with maintenance or something similar, if they'd died it just would've been their families suing instead. But for post-traumatic stress disorder...?! Sometimes I wonder why I'm trying to work for a living.

I saw in the news that the Pilot of the Hudson crash had had his pay and benifits reduced.
