So the OH sees an advert for crufts on tele last night and pipes up, i've always wanted to go to crufts. We dont have any dogs, but her family have been breeding Bull Mastiffs for about 15 years, so she likes that sort of breed, size and type of dog. Which of the four days is gonna be best for that type of dog? I've had a look on the crufts website, but its not very useful.
thanks
thanks

Whichever day you go, bring booze. My girlfriends brother breeds dobermans and one local show was enough for me to lose the will to live
and accept that the owners fall into two catergoriesWomen who really believe that they are changing the world by breeding a dog unglier than them
And men more suited to a day in Brighton than Birmingham!
awful awful day out.

Spot on! Incidentally, the gf's brother falls into the second category Women who really believe that they are changing the world by breeding a dog unglier than them

I go to Crufts every year - on the Saturday - for the shopping! I don't watch the showing and I am not a fan of the kennel club especially their rules on pedigrees (euthanising white boxers or ridgeless rhodesian ridgebacks etc). I don't breed dogs, I don't show dogs, I don't go to any other dog shows but as a dog owner and animal lover (and shopaholic ) you can't beat 4 halls at the NEC crammed with all the dog related products you can possibly imagine. I am sure your girlfriend will love it.
You will find bullmastiffs at Crufts everyday of the show - in the Discover Dogs section but, as others have said, if you want to see lots of bullmastiffs you need to go on Working Dogs Day.

I see it the other way around. Fat, ugly women who think they in some way improve by having a stunningly cute dog running next to them. And who have children who have now left home and are replaced by the mutt.
My Aunty breeds Hungarian Vizlas and shows at Crufts every year for as long as I can remember.
Her dogs aren't the fluffy preened mutts though, they're all working gun dogs and in her spare time she's also a top Show Judge.
Going to her house is a nightmare though as she had 6 dogs last time I was there, and all of them want to sit on your lap at the same time

soar subject on the ol p+p then, ok. Fair points, i've never really been that bothered about going, she piped up last night and i thought i'd see about going. Was thinking about Friday or Saturday as we're out next Sunday anyway.
Thanks guys
Friday will be less people there as not a weekend obviously, but it is toy and utility day which means yappy rat dogs, constantly barking all day. Noticibly louder than other days near the breed rings. Thanks guys
Saturday is gundogs so loads of labs and goldens, about 600 of each entered in breed rings last year.(plus other gundogs)
There will be plenty to see either day, obedience rings, agility, flyball etc as well as the breed judging. As mentioned there will be a couple of mastiffs on the discover dogs section, but not only a couple, sunday is your day for that.
