There has been a lot in the news currently about how council tax increases will be the lowest in 15 years and also about how effective local government has been an introducing efficiency savings.

Now, unless I’m missing something:
- Efficiency savings should mean that council tax should reduce
- Other commentators are talking about council services being reduced or withdrawn in the light of recession
- Due to recessionary pressures, costs are likely to reduce (likely deflation in next year or so)

Surely that should add-up to a decrease in my tax, not an increase of ‘only’ 3%

Hmmm……….

They need to claw back the millions they lost in Icelandic Banks!

And they know that when Brooon starts the Heidelberg up next week, inflation will be through the roof soon enough!

Personally I am very happy to pay them another 3% to do faap all round my way.
