A company I am licensing a product to are fixing up a half day London launch event for about 80 key potential customers in June.

They are looking for a London venue for the launch which has a 'contemporary' feel as the product is seen as quite innovatve and unusual. They have their marketing people on the job but I wondered if anybody had been to a venue which blew them away in itself which might fit the bill?

I think they had in mind one of the design centres or design museum type of place or

Sketch Gallery in Mayfair. Had a 'do' there recently and the venue itself was a great talking point, it felt like an event.

RIBA?

Old organisation at cutting edge of design/architecture.

Good central location.

I've been to lots of launches and conferences there; none of which were architecture-based!

Thanks again.

I see you can hire some of the halls at the Science and British Museums, and the Museum of London.

We have used a few venues in London for such events

The OXO restaurant

Old Billingsgate (maybe a bit big for your needs)

Kensington Roof Gardens

Tobacco docks (again maybe too large)

A couple of galleries on Cork st

Good luck

Feck all that.

Take them to the School Dinners Club - you'll have them eating out of your hand... and if not you can take some incriminating photos and blackmail them.

hehe

How about the RSA? The Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce.
They've even got a honary fellows list including Colin Chapman.

If you're interested, when you contact them ask for Natalie (MrsJimothy), she'll ensure you're well looked after!

As a venue she's definitely unusual, if you need 'innovative' too, then she was launched in 2000, the largest wooden tall ship built in the UK for well over a century and also the largest tall ship to be built using a cold moulded laminated structure. She's also 1 of only 2 fully wheelchair accessible tall ships in the world (both of which are owned and operated by the same UK charity).
