When I was younger and prone to a fair few hospital visits, I thought that local anaesthetic meant an anaesthetic which was from near where you lived.

I was always worried that I was getting my home towns anaesthetic and not the proper UK one......!

It was years until a nurse explained the difference to me, put my mind to rest that conversation did
