Boring What Phone thread.......
Discussion
I lost my N95 8GB at a Metallica gig last night as i'm an idiot.
Luckily my contract is up in a fortnight so i need a new phone.......
Before the n95 i always had fancy little phones more style over substance than anythign else....... but then i've had the n95 and its not been a bad phone....
So having a look around i have seen both the HTC Touch - looks alright
and the nokia i think e71 which seems to have plenty of functionality but is also nice and slim.
and of course there is the iphoen but i only want a 12 month contract and despite having a high loyality bonus thingy with o2 i don't think they'l budge to a 12 month one.
Any other suggestions or comments on the ones above?
Cheers
Dan

k the phone. How was the gig?
Absolutly awesome - 5th time i've seen them and they were superb. Great set list, brialliant set etc.
k the phone. How was the gig?We were standing and about 4/5 from the front. It was a rough old pit hence the loss of phone!
Machinehead as support were also pretty good.
Wow - I've still not managed to see Metallica yet! What were they like? I've listening to every album bac to back today whilst I got stuff done round the house
Regarding phones, my Sony W910i is absolutely great as a good basic light and small phone but it crashes about once or twice a day. My girlfriend's is the same. Vodafone say we're the first people to discover this problem, so I asked a random person at work who I spotted with the phone. His crashes all the time too. What a weird coincidence!

I've got an HTC Touch Diamond (from O2, so comes running TouchFlo3D) which is both the best and worse phone I've ever owned.
Its very tricky to get used to, the touch screen works but takes alot of getting used to. I've had it about 3 months and it took me a month/month and a half to get used to it.
That said, having proper internet all the time (got free internet
) a nice interface, the option to put any number of 3rd party applications on there (such as TCPMP for watching movies) and a quality music player and headphones...I love it. Very slim (though I'd recommend a silicone sleeve in case you drop it) the only thing that slightly lets it down is a 3MP camera without flash.
I'd definately have another HTC phone. If you're technically minded and have some patience its fantastic, if you're less technical go for one of the run of the mill samsungs/LG's/sony's.

MX5! (sorry that's the usual what car answer)
iPhone (usual what phone answer)
Try asking if they'll drop to a 12 month contract, though I doubt they will.

Sony Ericsson Xperia 1 is a good choice. Just waiting for the O/H to get her sim activated so we/she can start using it properly!
