That would have been me. First time I've been "Spotted" 
and I've had the Griff since Oct 2004.
I was on holiday at Hele Bay, next to Ilfracombe (17-24 June) with my brother. We travelled up the hill to Ilfracombe every day as we went out in search of pubs for lunch. Roof was off all the time unless it was raining.
Didn't see you though - were you on foot?
The Griff is Imperial Blue, which looks purple from some angles.
