In the grand scheme of things a small point I agree, but when coming across a Caterham, is it the done thing as a Lotus driver to wave ?

Appreciate that it is a totally different marque, but at the end of the day it is based on the Old Lotus 7 and in any event, anyone who drives an even more basis mode of transport than I do cant be all that bad.

Yep, I wave at Cateringvan owners - all fellow enthusiasts for mad, impractical cars, Lotus built or not.

Wave at VX220's too, but almost without exception they blank me. Badge envy, perhaps?

As an Ex Caterham owner who used to flash or wave to any Elise with the roof off I would say yes. Both cars share the same histoy and if you bought an elise for the driving experience you share a lot with Caterham owners, especially if it 7.30 in the morning on a quite country lane.

I did get feed up with the vast number of Elise owners who never waved or flashed.
