Brakes

I have nearly finnished crackin in my elise i got last month. When i first pick up the car i noticed the brakes made i fair bit of noise. the sales chap said it was the gloss on the brakes and that would wear off. im on nearly 900 miles and i still get that noise. sayin that i have not had to really brake heavy. it sounds like i have no brake pads. i can stop though. what do you think?

Yep, to echo what was said in the thread linked above, you need to work the brakes *really* hard a few times in one session, once a month or so. That'll remove the glaze. Don't worry about wearing them out, it's what they're for!

It's also very good practice to learn to stop quickly and safely!
