Hi Guys and Gals as seen gals in elises too. Just looked at a 111s August 03 has central locking electric windows, but no air con? Is this not supposed to be standard? Also there was a strange brackect rivetted to driver side sill, it was a bout 8 inches long is this normal? It is at a TVR dealer price is attractive but something doesnt seem right or is it?

Cheers for any help.

Air con was still extra on the '03my, but more commonly fitted than on Elises previously, as regards to the bracket

Bracket sounds odd. Aircon not standard. Its good to have though as it can get hot inside, but in the uk you can't always take the roof off.

Hi.
I have a 2004 model elise 111s with air con as an extra. Would definately recommend it. Even with the roof off on a really hot day its a godsend. And with the roof on on a hot day, it helps you breathe!!

Not sure what the riveted bit on the sill is. I dont have one!
Hope this helps...

Could the bracket be for a fire extinguisher??

roof on, on a hot day?? Surely not!!

I have an 04 111S with no air-con. Didn't want it, don't miss it....and saved money not having it!!

I've just bought that car! No idea what the bracket is either, but it appears to be glued on - the rivets are to locate something that hooks over the top - hoping it'll come off, as well as the extra LOTUS lettering on the back! Apart from that, it's the best car in East Anglia for the price at the moment - sorry to have beaten you to it if you were still interested...

All - good to be back in a Lotus after 18 months away (Had Std Elise S1 and Esprit S4 before...)

PS - AirCon is still an option on 04 model year/spec cars (of which this is one anyway...)

Answers on a postcard? I've no idea what it's for but the more I look at it the more it looks stuck on with mastic..... Don't suppose the PO is out there anywhere? Anthony M from Wyboston?

I'd be interested to hear of anyone that has done this - everyone I've spoken to so far maintains it's not economically viable, as so many bits have to be changed....

I doubt its economically viable too. Need to route stuff all over the car... If you really want aircon, get a car with it already.

I was told by a dealer that its no-go - the work involved would cost many thousands
