Cleaning an Elise Interior
Discussion
Hi! In the process of purchasing an Elise which is in excellent condition with the exception of the interior.
It has cloth seats which need a GOOD clean along with the flooring. Someone has suggested a simple steam clean. Any ideas or advice from actual owners?
Secondly the sill covers on the drivers side is very worn and needs replacing. Does anyon know how much?
Any idea how much the janspeed sport exhaust is as well?
Any help would be much appreciated.

You could always get the seats retrimmed in leather or Alcantara. I think you can get that done through www.hangar111.com or www.eliseparts.com - I think both sites also sell replacement sill pads.
I had the same problem with the interior of my second-hand S2 - looks great from the outside but looks like a Frenchman's been living in the cabin.
Bonce's advice is sound - I'm getting my cloth seats, sill covers and door panels all re-trimmed in leather. Sill covers and door panels only cost a few quid each to re-cover, seats are £215 for full leather.
Quite a few places are agents for the Lotus re-trim service - I've noticed Bell & Colvill, Hangar 111 and Christopher Neil.
If your car interior is particularly scruffy you could treat yourself to a complete interior retrim in leather or alcantara - around £1,000, which isn't THAT bad when you think about how much you've shelled out for the car.

I'm sure that the Lotus trim shop does all interior parts and are quite reasonably priced (must be a first for Lotus)
Have a look on the British Cars site as there was a thread on this a few weeks ago and someone posted the name and number of the guy in the trim shop who can sort you out
