Hello.

Can anybody give me some advice on fitting throttle bodies to Elise.
(VVC Head DVA ported, Janspeed 4:2:1 manifold, decatted, Emerald, 270 Cams)

Do yo see a noticeable increase in performance.
Is the top end gain at the expense of low down torque and drive ability.
How drastic is fuel consumption
Was there a significant increase in inductor roar.
Any other comments!

The evidence/RR graphs etc that I have seen has suggested that this doesn't give mush more than 170bhp?

Thanks!

you should see about 10bhp - with the right cams more

nope - you still get good torque with DTHTBS

How drastic is fuel consumption

not too bad - about 35Mpg under normal driving - mixed road use

YES ! - lots of induction roar

You'll need some hotter cams than the 270s to really make more power - maybe 285s ...with the head you have, and DTHTBS + Emerald ECU you should get 185-190bhp ...but you'll really be needing forged pistons etc then...once you want to go over 170bhp its time to spend serious dosh - just DTHTBS, ECU + fitting will be £2.5K, then cams and pistons fitted another £1200 or so ...for maybe 20-25bhp gain.

You really need to make a decision as to whether its the most cost effective tuning route.

An Audi 20VT engine with lots of money spent on it!
Targeting 500bhp/1000kg - which should be nice!

That sounds fantastic. You should post a worklog with pics when you start your project

Good luck!

- spending £3-5K on a normally aspirated K series seems to be going out of fashion these days (well unless you race etc) - Audi, Honda and Ford conversions are getting much more affordable ...good luck !
