Giving it the once over

I see a number of posts suggesting I ditch the RAC when it comes to inspecting an Elise for purchase and opt for a Lotus specialist. Easier said than done when they are spread as thinly as Man United fans in the North West. I guess the authorised dealers won't go out and look at a car, and the alternative is to get the seller to bring it in to their dealership..but will dealers they do that? Any ideas as to how I can get someone who knows about elise to travel hundreds of miles at short notice and how much i should expect to pay?

Not sure yet, still looking at the ads to get the prices etc sorted. I am South Yorks and have been looking at a radis if about 60 miles, further if it sounds right.
