After calming my nerves about the steam billowing from my radiator do any of you chaps have any advice of tyres. No, not what type but how you bloody well change them! My local tyres places cannot change my tyres because they cant fit a trolley jack with a rubber protector on (to stop damage to the under tray) under the car. Short of picking the bloody thing up by hand any offers of advice??

Eliseparts.com sell low clearance jacks. Have a look on their site. Then you could take it down to the tyre fitter to use.

You've got the answer right there. In order to get the trolly jack under it, drive onto some blocks of wood or give it a lift from the rear wheel arch. It doesn't take much effort to lift it an inch!

That's waht I do, have two wedge shaped bits of wood for the job - just push it on, roll the jack underneath with a pice of wood on top to protect the chassis.

Walk away, walk away. If they are not bright enough to figure out how to raise a car in the air, then they have no business touching yours.
OR
They don't want the job but will do it and damage the car or the wheels to kill any further dealings with the car.

Problem solved. Nick Whale Sports Cars (Lotus dealer) keeps a small batch of tyres at all times and they are only about £5 more per tyre. Huraay

What colour is your car - have spotted a dark metallic red one with red hood that I haven't seen round brum before (was being driven by a bird though) and a bright light blue one (nice colour) - or are you not brum based?
