How low can you go??

Hey there everybody, my question is how low can you go?? well what i mean is on my s1 if i have nitrons fitted (mmm nitrons...) would i be able to use a front splitter ok on the crap roads in the uk, ie all our bloody speed bumps etc etc....

try trawling www.seloc.org or the lotus section of british cars for opnions. Those sites have more lotus users than this sections.

From what I have heard 110 and 120 is a good compromise between being low and getting over speed bumps etc.

I run 100-110 which with a little care is fine.... It was set lower and it wasnt a good idea....

100/110 LADEN with nitrons is just about ok.

I run the 340R at 110/120 unladen - which equates to about 105/115 laden - just about right.

Go much below that and you have to be far too cautious.

I run 120/130 ...but then I have to use such things as multi storey car parks

A std S1 is 140/140 IIRC, and a std S2 130/130 - for everyday road use I wouldnt want to go any lower than 110/120 ...even then I doubt you would get into some car parks without scraping the front all the time - I do that now with 120/130 ;(
