Hello all,

I've been thinking about an Exige for a while and wondered if anyone knows what a cheap ones are going for at the moment? Or are cheap and exige two non compatable words?!

Thanks in advance.

there's a 16k one on exiges.com, but it's high mileage.

realistically you're looking at ~20k

No shit!

But even if you factor in a respray for the front it's still cheap.

As with all cars, I guess it's worth what you're prepared to offer for it.

How many have you seen or driven?

If you go by the classifieds on here you're looking around the 20k mark, which I reckon is a bargain for the performance and prestige. Probably not a "cheap" prospect to run but compared to a Ferarri or whatever I guess holds its own £ for £.

The market on Elise's & Exiges seems to have gone soft of late and there are some serious deals around - wish I was buying now!

Thanks all - i haven't been looking much until now really. I'm toying with the idea of getting shot of my bike and buying a car to play with (got a bit bored of bikes at the moment!). Will try to get a test drive from my local garage, and keep my eyes peeled for a good deal.

Thanks again.

I owned an S1 Exige (2000 model, from new) for 2 years and can say that I enjoy my (old) 111s better, mainly because the roof comes off! The Exige was great to drive, looked cool, but without aircon it's a nightmare in hot weather as cabin temps soar uncontrollably with all the pipework running through the chassis. I had problems selling it too, tried these pages, no takers, px'd it for a Peugeot 206 Gti and saw 19.5k having bought for 29k was not impressed. This time round, decided on a less costly option by buying 111s 2nd hand at 12.5k which meant could justify as 2nd car. BTW, I don't think there's much between the 111s and Exige (177 version) in 0-60, if anything. All IMHO of course.

BTW, to answer your Q about price ... I bet you could get a good deal if you're willing to haggle.
