Hi All,

have some video of my elise chasing down and overtaking an F1 car....both cars being driven by experts too! (yes, neither of them was me!)

does anyone

a) wanna see em - problem is it was on girlfriends D-snap, which is cool but no zoom and the cars are teeny tiny in it)
b0 have anyhwhere I can put them so people can look at them?

it was pretty damn amazing watchung Matthew drive a bog standard Elise S2 after 600 bhps worth of arrows F1 car and slowly catch him over 3 laps (including spinning the elise 3 times!) before diving through on tight right-hander. Awesome, awesome driving....

I remember watching an F40 being totally destroyed by an F1 car on a clarkson video. Would be very interested to see this video.

Bet all the F1 teams are scratching their heads wondering why they spend £10s of millions each year on their cars when a £20k elise is quicker. Maybe we'll see one on pole next year?

hahah - its true honest...there were even some pistonheaders watching in real life so I can get back up if absolutely necessary!

D-snap - panasonic camera/vid camera etc....

Bonce - not sure I CAN mail them to you, one is 9Mb....have you got somewhere I can ftp em to?

btw....the only reason the elise caught it up was cos they weren't racing properly and the infield at the circuit was astonishingly tight and twisty.....

I would have thought the F1 cars handling would be fairly good as well as straight line speed....

Would love to see it 'cos I don't believe you either ( and ) especially as the Elise span - the f1 car must have been on a rev limit or being driven by a real knob.

No disrespect intended it just sounds highly improbable

I must say it would be nice if I had a car that handled as well as your liz. To be able to change direction so fast, to dart across the carriageway. To be able to turn on a sixpence to avoid any other cars that were causing a danger. Oh, it would appear you didn't.

I had my little Elise fix on Saturday with Fish and Cuzza out for a play. good fun these engineless cars (or at least i couldnt hear one ) - hows the head gasket cuzza?

Still playing it soothing music on a regular basis

Enjoyed the run with fish on Saturday - was surprised how much better his sounds even without a sports zorst.

you know its a tick tick ticking timebomb Bet my 620 goes bang before yours though

Yep, fish's car has a lovely exhaust note, just needs to be a tad louder. Not TVR loud maybe, but just a shade more. Hopefully the sports zorst will do that. Plus I guess with the roof up the noise is deadened that little bit more. Looks good though in red and I was impressed. Particularly with the roundabout antics at the end - we should have gone for the roundabout challenge

it was predictable when on the limit, fish was just filtering the throttle as the grip started coming back and it was responding so delicately. I shall call yours "buttercup" from now on i think.

B******D!

Even a car as nimble as mine has no chance against a mad peroxide blonde with zebra seat covers.

Insurance assessor has approved all the works so should get her back in a few weeks with a bit of luck.

no one has a chance against peroxide blondes with zebra seat covers. Whats the betting she had a higher sperm count than you did....

Glad to hear the insurers are getting on with it quickly.

well bear in mind that this entire thing is somewhat tongue in cheek...you're of course right, no WAY would a standard S2 be able to catch ANY elise on a normal race circuit....but....in this instance the race driver left the pit lane as the F1 car was going down the straight (a straight i was hitting 170 by the end of by the way) and then managed to get past 3 laps later. The F1 car WAS being driven by one of the instructors but he didnt know he was racing an elise....

The video is SHOCKING quality as already warned, though you an hear us all gabbling excitedly about it...Bonce has emailed me so will try and send over vids to him later

cheers

"is that an F1 car in the distance, that blob there"

"oh, that elise, its getting past that blob, I mean F1 car"

piss taking aside, look forward to seeing it
