untidy headlamp covers
Discussion
Hi,
Hope someone here can help,
I've recently become the proud owner of an Elise S1, absolutely loving it but one thing thats niggling me is the headlamp covers. I've got the type that are stuck on with mastik and have have some sort of body tape on the outside to cover up any messy bits of mastik. But this tape has become really tatty and needs replacing does anyone know where to get hold of this? Or have any idea where to start. Here's a piccie if it helps:
I've been in touch with a main dealer but no joy.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Nice elise looks good with the black wheels.
Try heating up the edge of the lense cover with a hair drier and carefully removing it and cleaning all the mastic off then using some of bruce's goo to stick it back neatly.

There's also the option of screwing the cover directly to the clam.

Thanks for the advise, I think I'll have a look at removing the covers and cleaning it up, I couldn't get the link to work for Bruces goo any other way of getting hold of this chaps goo.
As for Screwing the covers, I did look at this and the idea of drilling the bodywork scared the goo out or me.

I paid Sinclaires to drill the clam and make my headlamp covers removable. Cost a couple of hours labour to remove them and clean them up and fit them, but it was 100% stress free for me (i.e. their problem if they messed it up!) so well worth it!
Very pleased with the results. I can post a photo of it if you like?
