Is there a big differece in running costs?

I'd like a 111r but I just cant give up those S1 curves that easily.

well a 111R will be covered under manufacteres warranty for at least the next 18mths, and comes comes with Japanesse reliabilty.

For me personally there would be no contest, love S2 Exiges, but sorry to say I never 'got' S1 Exiges except as a trackday tool.

Its a 3 year warranty I think now...and a Toyota bog standard engine vs modified K series....I think the first option will prove much more cheaper to run.......and better built, more comfy, cool in the summer, more practical etc ...but will cost £10K more to get into

nope, still 2yr warranty (they've increased the mileage limit recently IIRC)

used 111R's around circa £27k so difference is more like £6k-£7k

Increased the mileage - what to 2 years/unlimited? its was pants before - they put it up to 2 years/24K miles when I got my S2...it ran out 10 months later...thats what I call confidence in the product

In the US, the warranty is viewed as a part of the car(literally) by the car buying public.
The petty warranties that the Euro market has to put up with would result in no sales at all in the US market.
It is common to hear people say " Yup!, it's got a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty" despite the fact that the thing is in the shop every week to fix.

You can't compare the two cars as Mustard hinted. If you are asking this question its likely you haven't yet driven both? Once you do you'll know which you want...

If youve got lots of cash and just want it for trackdays and the odd sunday morning blat get teh S1 Exige.

For an all rounder which is a lot more refined and easy to live with get a 111R.

Or get an S2 Exige.

I love both Exiges but would really miss not having the roof off on nice sunny days.
