Hi everyone,

I'm after some advice, I've just found out that I need some new pads on my S1 elise, and because i'm replacing these metal matrix things that are no longer in production I'm told it will be expensive (£300 +vat +labour). Anyone know of any other options? Is there a reason I can't just use normal aftermarket pads?

Please excuse my ignorance but i've only had the car for a short while and am not mechanically minded.

Chris

if you have MMCs then you have to use MMC pads - otherwise kiss goodbye to the discs. Try www.eliseshop.com for a price.

Otherwise change em over to steel disks and pads - either way not cheap.

I just had full set of discs n pads and its like £100 a corner for disks and £200 for Pagid pads + fitting..not cheap...now on the 3rd set in 55K miles !

Thanks for the info guys.

340ragtop - any idea roughly what price the MMC pads go for? I couldn't find them on eliseparts or eliseshop.

like £50 for a full rear set...

if you buy 2 rear sets - £90...
