Hi everyone,

I’m seriously considering a 111R as my first ever Lotus! I’ve heard lots of positive things about this model, so am getting quite enthusiastic.

So serious in fact, that I’m looking at colours .......

If my nerve holds, I would love BRG with yellow viper-stripes, similar to the Type 25. Reckon I could buy the decals as a spare part (they are decals I hope???) and hey presto! I’m not usually a big fan of stripes, but they seem to really suit the shape and profile of the S2.

I haven’t seen a 25 in the flesh, so any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Yeah - you could get a BRg car with black wheels, spec th interior to match and just get the vinyl stripes added after if you liked (would be cheaper).... I like em I think the T72 (JPS) and T25 were the nicest of the heritage cars.

The factory stripes are actually painted!

Could be a factory option thought?

See if you can find pictures of a Type 23 - this is the classiest looking scheme they make

Hi there,

Here's an alternative solution....

I have a March 2004 Type 25 111S (only 3,500) miles)for sale at 25K (Higher spec than an entry model 111R).

By the time you'd paid for the extras on a 111R(leather, hard top etc etc), you'd be pushing 35 grand! So, if you could live without the Toyota engine, and bought my car, you'd get almost exactly what you wanted and save a whole lot of hassle and 10 thousand pounds. And...it'd be a genuine Lotus limited edition as opposed to a copy with transfers.

Just a thought...

Not a fan of white cars (with the exception of the Countach) but I love the colour scheme of the Type 25

and 160-200Kg in weight too ...the performance difference is like 0.5sec to a ton...due to increased weight of the Toyota engined car.....

Maybe I could live without the Toyota engine, but does your car have all the build enhancements l've seen on the 111R?

We should talk - drop me an email via my profile!

Hi Mark,

I've tried several times emailing you pics of my Type 25 111S - maybe your hotmail account is full? Anyhow, its almost identicle to the images that were supplied by other members a few days ago. I believe there were only 50 made, I've never seen another one out on the open road.

Maybe we should dispense with the hi tech, and use the phone?

Sorry about the hassle

I think there were 50 of the base model Type 25. I was told at one point that there were only 25 of the 111s model, but that's second or third hand information.

(and you can't have mine!)

Edit: see pic in profile.

For your information Mark, mine is exactly the same as Wendy's. She may have some more pics you can access?

I have an original Type 25.....thinking of a new S2 Exige next year in Type 25 colours!!! I'm just waiting to see if they do a supercharged version.....

I'm told the factory do a £1k option for painted stripes.

Personally I'd buy a BRG and have vinyl stripes put on, that way when stripes are out you can revert to BRG if stripes don't help resale.

suprised by the comments about only 0.5 sec difference to 100mph

I was under the impression that the toyota was significantly faster and more powerful

i guess not though?
