Mornin folks. Got a strange one for you. Just done some general check ups on the Elise and now seem to have what can only be described as a squeak or whistle type noise from around the inlet manifold area. But I didn't remove or strip anything from the throttle body back. The only part I removed was the Hurricane induction system and got rid of some dirt etc that had collected. Put it all back to together and reset the throttle etc and bingo. Now it makes this noise. It isn't constant and only seems to appear around 1750-2500rpm at light or constant throttle openings. But v.slightly opening and closing the throttle causes the noise to come and go kind of like air going past a valve or something. But I can't for the life of me pinpoint where the hell the noise is coming from! Doesn't seem to have affected the performance, just annoying and wondering if its just coincidence and the beginning of something more major...

maybe a mouse crawled in while you were washing the filter!!

Now for a more sensible answer. Check the Throttle body is fixed on correctly, if it's a little misaligned you could have a small gap where air is getting sucked in and causing the noise. Also did you remember to put the sealing washers back in place, one on the face plate of the TB where it joins the inlet manifold and the other where the hose from your filter slips over the TB. Both of these have to be greased with silicone grease.
