Oil temperature
Discussion
So what do you all reckon, is the hollow sump bolt the way to go for fitting an oil temperature sender, or is it better to fit a tee on the pressure warning switch?
Anyone got any top hints on gauges to match the Elise? I fancy a digital round gauge with a white face, but can only find black at the moment.. the analogue gauges that I have found all look a bit too traditional.

id go with a motorsport oil filter adaptor which has take offs for oil temp and pressure.
I had the sump bolt before - they kept on shearing off as they were undone for oil changes, broke 3 before I used the oil filter adaptor
check out Demon Tweeks for guages - I have analogue Revtec jobbies which are fine IMO

I've just commenced fitting oil pressure, volts and time clock gauges to my 1998 S1. The existing standard oil filter adaptor has TWO sensor holes and TWO cables running to it - the Handbook and Service Manuals even show these TWO sensors, but only one is used. The unused (plugged) hole was destined by Lotus for an oil temp sensor, but was never used. It looks a bit tight down to the chassis/suspension, but if you can squeeze the oil temp sensor into the unused hole, using an adaptor on the other hole for your pressure sensors, then you have a ready made solution, including the cable, although this latter may only go as far as the engine harness connectors at the left hand side of the engine bay where they plug into the main harness, (not checked this bit yet - if anyone knows if or where it goes to beyond that I'd love to know).
Regarding gauges, I've gone for the Telemetrix range - brushed alloy rims, needles similar to speedo and rev counter, white background.
