Now that it seems to be raining every day I've noticed how poor the wiper blade is on the Liz.
Is there a recomended replacement out there?????
I've heard that the best fix is to get the entire mechanism replaced BUT this sounds mucho $$$$ and i'm looking for a quicker/cheaper alternative.
Cheers guys.

Andy,

Another solution (much cheaper) is to use Rainaway or RainX, these are water repellant coatings applied to the windscreen. Over 40mph the rain simply beads and runs off the windscreen.

They are readily available (halfords etc.) and now I've used it once wouldn't be without it!

I fitted a VW Passat arm & one of the new Bosch Air blade thingies to my VX.

It works really well - it's a little shorter than the standard blade, but curves nicely.

Also, it's about half the height of the standard blade & arm combo.

Total cost was about £25 pounds...

Edit - here's a photo:

Rainx is good - in fact very good. However not mych use unless you are doing more than 40.

The S2 arm and blade can be bought from Elise-parts, not too expensive. I am a complete mechanical numptie yet sorted it in about 3 minutes. No hassles at all!

Think you will need a 14mm socket. If you replace the arm, make sure you mark on the screen where the old balde is efore hand, then make sure the new one matches that position pose fitting - obviously if it isn't and you turn the wiper on then it will misbehave.

Honest - it is very easy, cheap and effective
