Having read some previous posts, I am considering a CSI airlow battery conditioner.

Are they easy to fit? some posts say that they connect the charger through the cigarette lighter, is this the easiest?

I have an elise S2, does disconnecting the battery play havoc with the alarm...

Any help greatfully recieved...

Hi Nobbles,

I did some similar research myself, you may have read some of my posts.

The CSI seems just the job. The guy I got it from was very helpful (CSI), ordered on the phone with visa and was with me the next day.

I'm running an S1 so the ciggi lighter isn't live with ignition off. Not a problem though, the CSI comes with a handy little little lead that can be connected directly to the battery. This lead ends in a little clip junction which can be routed to the car's interior (or just left under the hood /boot if you are like me!

(It can also be connected directly to the battery with the supplied croc clips.)

Then it's just a simple case of popping the hood, conncting the junction to the end of the lead on the CSI, plugging in and away you go.

I know some PHers have done a far more thorough installation job of the flying lead and I may do the same, but it's really no hassle as it is. Besides, I reckon routing cables through to the cockpit is one of those really fun jobs right?

Anyway, for peace of mind, I think you are making the right choice with the CSI.

Cheers

DSS

I've got a CSI on an S2.. I just attached the lead supplied with a couple of ring crimps onto the battery in the boot, leaving the lead free (5 min job). When I connect it, I just pop the boot lid, connect the CSI to the lead and then rest the boot lid back down on the cable. I can then set the alarm as the boot lid switch is actuated in that position. If you are leaving the car outside, you can pass the lead through the louvres and shut the lid completely.
